Direct2Readers, the author-reader marketplace built by Athenia Creative Services, is now powering tens of thousands of titles from independent authors, including bestselling names like Annabelle Chase and Katie Cross.
Unlike traditional book discovery platforms, Direct2Readers supports product types that most marketplaces ignore. Authors can list and promote Kickstarter campaigns, serial fiction, video content, LitRPG titles, and other formats alongside traditional ebooks and print books.
A direct integration with TikTok Shop is slated for Q2 2026, allowing registered storytellers on Direct2Readers to sell directly through TikTok. BookTok has become one of the most powerful discovery channels for fiction, and the integration gives authors a direct sales path from social discovery to purchase.
Current integrations with BookFunnel and Lulu provide authors with fulfillment options that don’t require building or maintaining a standalone e-commerce website. BookFunnel handles digital delivery for ebooks, while Lulu provides print-on-demand fulfillment.
“Most platforms make authors choose between discoverability and direct sales. We built Direct2Readers so they don’t have to pick,” said Chelle Honiker, Managing Partner of Athenia Creative Services. “And when TikTok Shop goes live, authors will be able to sell where their readers already are.”
Direct2Readers also integrates with StorytellerOS, Athenia Creative’s writing and business management platform currently in private beta.
